I have been fishing ever since I was 3 years old.One of my dreams is to write a book that would teach women and girls how to fish!

If you would like to share any of your fishing experiences, stories or photos to include in my book please submit them - that would be awesome! I would also like to include fishing tips, tricks and techniques that you may know of that could be included in my book!

Thanks so much for your help! It was sleeting when they left, and they were bundled up in camo from their heads to their boots.

I'm still in my PJ's - and warm and dry - so life is good.

Since they've been gone the sleet has turned to a beautiful light fluffy snow fall. What a great morning for a bird hunt. Top 10 bird hunting morning for sure! One of our Son's first outings with Dad - he nearly SPRUNG out of bed.

He's not old enough for a gun yet - but he sure does like to help scout and prove that he can lay extra still in the corn field like a big boy.

Won't he be suprised when he gets his first "Daisy" this year for Christmas...

Shhhhhh - don't tell - not a word!

Do you remember when you got your first BB gun? I do - think I must have shot at every frog in the neighborhood that first week!

Until next time - I'll be hoping for a warm spell - and thinking about taking up ice fishing - or maybe not.

Guess I'll be waiting patiently for the spring spawn - or our next nature adventure!

Have a wonderfully fantastic day-
Angie

Too Cold To Fish? NEVER.

So...when is it too cold to fish? NEVER.

Yesterday I took a group of 2nd grade Brownie Scouts out on a 2-hour fishing clinic we call "Go Fish Girls". Their 1st grade group the week before had lots of fun - and caught fish - but I was afraid with the colder weather this week we would not be so lucky.

The girls arrived decked out in their winter coats, hats, gloves and scarfs and were optomistic and excited about their day out fishing.

There was not another person in the entire park with us. GULP.

After teaching the girls about fishing - and telling them that the most important part if fishing is yelling "FISH ON" when you catch a fish - and everyone cheering and yelling "WOO HOO" after a fish is caught we headed to the water.

Teeth chattering in the 42 degree weather we baited our hooks (worm camp) and then dropped our bait and bobbers down...and waited.

It was about 5 minutes until the first "FISH ON" was heard. WHEW - Atleast we caught one fish on this chilly day.

Brownie after Brownie got a chance to yell "FISH ON" that afternoon. They didn't evenmind when their gloves got hooked on the barbs of the fish hooks.

We caught 17 crappie in all - some that measured as keepers even. NICE.

The girls were having such a great time no one noticed their knees were knocking or their noses were frozen in the now 36 degree afternoon. "FISH ON" and "WOO HOO" kept us all warm.

Darkness fell - and these young ladies did not want to stop fishing. Their leader finally said "ladies - your parents are going to start to worry about you - just five more minutes and we need to head up the hill to our cars".

Another "FISH ON" and a photo was snapped.

You know it's a good day fishing when you run out of space in your digital camera.

What a great day on the water with girls who will never look at fishing the same way again. Who says you have to be quiet to fish?

"The fish come to the dock to see what the excitement is all about" is my story - and I'm sticking to it.

So what's your latest or greatest fishing adventure? We'd love to hear about it.

"Good Luck & Go Fish"
Angie

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://fishher.blogspot.com/2007/11/too-cold-to-fish-never.html' title='Too Cold To Fish?
